The Hope Trust Production, The Mockado raises £3033 for the refurbishment of Sunningdale Village Hall and the cast donate almost £2000 to the Kerith Centre Foodbank.

The recent production The Mockado, performed at the Sunningdale Village Hall to packed houses of over one hundred attendees on both Friday and Saturday night, raised in excess of £3000 for the Village Hall refurbishment programme. The show, a contemporary version of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic The Mikado, re written by Peter Harris, was received with great amusement and the audience enjoyed participating in some of the better known songs.

The trustees of The Hope Trust would like to thank everyone who attended the performance, all those who took part and helped behind the scenes making the production possible. Members of the cast comprised a host of local am dram enthusiasts from a variety of societies and local church choirs. The staging, a Japanese station in the foothills of Mount Fuji ,was designed and created by Simply Art, a local art society. A special thanks to Waitrose Community Matters who gave £800 to sponsor the cost of the production enabling us to enjoy such a high quality of costumes and setting.

In addition to the funds raised by the production, the cast raised a further sum of almost £2000 during rehearsals for the benefit of Kerith Centre Foodbank.
