CHARITY HOMESTORE RELAUNCH NETS OVER £11K ON OPENING WEEKEND |Rain didn't dampen the relaunch of Thames Hospice Home, as sales reached a record £11,000 in two days.

At noon on Friday, 24th July, Tim Brooke-Taylor OBE, The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, Councillor Eileen Quick, and Windsor MP Adam Afriyie, cut the ribbon on the newly revamped, Thames Hopsice furniture and homeware store, in Tinkers Lane, Dedworth.

The store was packed with supporters - some queuing from 11am - who were treated to a 10% discount on all goods as well as refreshments as they browsed - including a slice of bespoke Thames Hospice cake.

More than £5,000 was generated on homeware and household items sold on the Friday, and over £6,000 on Saturday.

| Debbie Lloyd, Thames Hospice Home Manager, said: "We are overwhelmed by the volume of support we've seen for Thames Hospice Home, both in store and online. A huge thanks to everyone who shared in our launch day celebrations, bought items or gave us such wonderful comments, we couldn't be happier with our success so far."

Featuring good quality second-hand furniture, electricals and household items, Thames Hospice Home has been completely refurbished and extended, selling a wider choice of stock across all departments. The store also features The Home Studio, where a specialist team revamps items to customers' specifications or to sell across our 14 stores. Thames Hospice Home is open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Saturday.

You can keep up to date with all the news, events and items available in store on its dedicated page at www.facebook.com/thameshosphome

Thames Hospice is a local charity supporting people living in East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. It costs £7million every year to run The Hospice and its services are free of charge to families. With only 20% of government funding, 80% is needed from charitable donations.
